CONTEXT
Warba Bank of Kuwait is a new financial institution and uniquely, the world’s first public listed company where 100% of its countrymen is given a stake at the point of establishment.  It aims to offer the best e-services and the latest technological solutions for its customers.  It offers Sharia-compliant banking products and services. We were invited to propose retail design for its outlet.
CHALLENGE
To establish Warba as THE modern Islamic Bank.  In terms of retail design, it will need to have distinction in design.  It aims to have a young, technology driven environment targeted more towards people between 18-30 as the main group.  As the brand proposition from the banking scene remains relatively unchanged, and idea of “trust” and “customer service” is a given – what else does a bank has to portray in order to stand out an engage?
SOLUTION
As a 21st century bank that an entire population has a stake, we proposed aspirations of its main Kuwaiti customer-base, which consists of youths, young professionals and businessmen.  The idea is an interior that project their same forward-looking dynamism of the target group.  It incorporates the ideas of continuity, progress, harmony, strength and privacy.  It projects the vision behind its establishment, while taking into consideration a subtle yet consistent Islamic-design inspired identity.
