CONTEXT
Samsung via its global agency Cheil was looking for ideas to launch its “Wave” model of mobile phones in a couple of cities in the Gulf region.
CHALLENGE
The electronics giant was looking for an integrated design, build and event-management solution for activation in Dubai and Kuwait that reflect its spirit of the phone and the line “smart phone for smart living”.
SOLUTION
In line with the phone’s name – Samsung Wave – and its BADA technology (which means “ocean” in Korean), an underwater theme is used. The structures include organic coral shaped display stands as well as a feature structure that has 100 pieces of Wave phones creatively mounted – creating an illusion a school of fish in the ocean. Its launch stand has a display zone that allow guests to experience “a day in the life as a Samsung Wave smart phone user”. With design, content and lighting, the zone distinguishes different time of the day as the visitor journeys along the displays. Accordingly, the visitor will discover different functions of the phones in the morning at home, afternoon at work, and evening with friends.
