CONTEXT
The client was at the time the owner and operator of a popular local neighbourhood family restaurant in the Malaysian state of Selangor called Organic Recipe Restaurant, which served home-style vegetarian dishes for health conscious customers. It aims to expand its appeal to younger urban segment of the market by leveraging on its experience.
CHALLENGE
The client aimed to establish a cafe in a shopping mall that serves light dishes and appeal to a broader segment of the market, especially the urban set. The problem is that the market in general does not associate good food or great experience with organic or vegetarian outlets, which are seen more as a go-to place because of illness, fear of falling ill or feeling conscientious.
SOLUTION
The O Cafe brand is the answer to establishing mass market appeal for a traditionally niche business. This new destination brings the joy back on what a cafe experience should be: a place that is about the relaxation, the delight of spending time at a casual and friendly environment with good food to boot – a liberating experience. Originally inspired by the word “organic”, the new one-alphabet “O” sets one free to define what it should be, just like how everyone has different preference of enjoying their time at the outlet – a quick bite, a rendezvous or simply, peaceful solitude.
