CONTEXT
The client, IPO Specialty F&B, is the franchise owner of IpohTown and IPO chains of food outlets with presence across Malaysia.
CHALLENGE
The existing positioning of the client was one that being on the bandwagon of the Modern Kopitiam – a prevalent local cafe trend that adopted a very literal “look like old times” approach for their outlets. However, in a sea of sameness, there is very little room for the chain to stand out.
SOLUTION
The brand is being repositioned without abandoning its root.    We unlock IPO’s brand potential by unleashing its full name of   “I Prefer Original” as the primary reference. Using this single-minded brand to unify its diverse chains under one roof, the positioning now focuses on celebrating the locals’ attitude towards food and friendship. This brand idea is then manifested to brand personality, visual identity and to the physical interior design of the outlet – a contemporary interpretation of the original “Malaysian attitude”.
